20+ patterns including a teddy bear, puzzle quilts, wearable quilts and games. I was disappointed with the book – the patterns were either too simplistic (add some buttons to a quilt and the child can attached felt flowers to it) or a questionable use of a quilt eg hopscotch. However, on further thought I think the ideas in the book are interesting. Why not make a quilt to take on holidays that is actually a noughts-and-crosses game (tic-tac-toe)? The Blankie is very simple – it does not really need a pattern – but it does remind me how a toddler likes simplicity. Why not make a small, simple blanket that attaches a few favourite toys for a first birthday?
As a quilting/patchwork book it was not what I wanted. But not evertything you make needs to be a challenge. Some great ideas for something different.

These quilts seem like great ideas for a setting where kids are waiting or need to be distracted, but I honestly don’t see them as something a child would play with over and over. For use in a hospital, church nursery or daycare setting, they might go over well. There were a few I found unique & interesting, but overall, I wouldn’t pay full price for this.
